Getting To Rochester
If you are arriving by plane to Rochester, New York, you will fly into The Greater Rochester International Airport (airport code ROC) which is located 4 miles southwest of the city. Most major airlines fly into Rochester. For Mapquest directions from the airport to the yacht club, click here.
The Buffalo Niagara International Airport (airport code BUF) is a larger facility and is about a one-hour drive from Rochester. The next closest and even larger airport is the Toronto Pearson International Airport (airport code YYZ) and is about a three-hour drive from Rochester, but there are frequent delays at the Canada-United States border crossing. If driving from Toronto, make sure that your car rental company allows travel into the US.
Rochester also has train service by Amtrak as does Buffalo and Toronto. Be advised that the train stations are not co-located at the airports in any of the three cities.
Local Travel in Rochester From the Rochester airport, there are buses, taxis and shuttle services to local hotels available. All major car rental companies are represented at the airport. Rochester Transit Service buses provide public transportation and schedules. For best results, rent a car.
