Seadragon Swim Team

Rochester Yacht Club offers a free program through our RYC Seadragons swim team. Our practices are daily and offer member's familes an opportunity to compete against other local clubs.  The program also helps children strengthen their swimming skills.

• Children between the ages of 3 and 15 and who are able to swim independently can participate in
• daily swim practice Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's From 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM. The Last Practice
• of the 2009 Season will be on Monday July 27.
• Kids should try to attend practice at least once before each meet so the coaches can explain what will happen during the meets. Children unable to swim independently and who are under the age of 6 can participate in our swim meets with assistance from another person in the water as well as a swim aid if they so desire.
• Swim team is for Members only and there is no fee.
• Any child living with a Member is also eligable.

• The first Swim Practice will take place on Wednesday June 30.  Swim Practice Will Take Place Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday From 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM.   
• Children that are able to swim independently may participate in practice.

• The RYC Swim Team participates with several private Clubs in the Rochester area to provide fun and friendly competitve swimming to Members.
• The goal of the swim team is to encourage children and young teens to participate in a team sport that
  reinforces swimming skills already learned and introduces additional skills used in competitive swimming.
• There is no fee for swim team.

Swim Meets:

• During the summer our swimmers will have the opportunity to participate in four swim meets. Swim Meet dates will be set and posted in the pool area mid-June.
• Swimmers will compete against children from other private clubs.
• Swim meets are very low key and are strictly for fun. For each event every child will recieve a place ribbon.
• At the end of each swim meet all participants will be rewarded with a treat of the Host Club's choosing.
